RSVP for the The BBQ From Planet Voorhees

This event is free to all NJAA members in good standing. Members may bring family members who are not with the club. Member friends - or anyone else not with the club for that matter - may RSVP and come as well for a $5 dollar entry fee. This years twist is a 50's / 60's theme with overtones of the golden age of science fiction.
50's Drive-In Food
Not a lot of surprises here, burgers and dogs, plus a few items for the non-carnvors in our ranks. Wouldn't really be a drive in meal without fries and onion rings, so we will have a frier on hand. No promises on the roller skate delivery!
Soda Fountain
If you've come the last two years you know I believe soda needs to pour from a tap. This year will be no different, the plan is to offer cherry coke, vanilla coke and orange soda (with my own little twist). I try to make them a bit less sweet than the commercial norm, the last two years they've gone over well with kids and adults alike.
Entertainment
Well ... there's plenty. Thing is here I think it would be more fun to surprise people. So though the entertainment line-up will completely overwhelm the last two years, you don't get to know what it will be! But I hope if you've been to the last two that I've earned your trust. I will say that there will be a character of musics golden age as well as classical scifi, and when you think I've thrown my big entertainment card I will still have one up the sleeve...

Membership Drive
The event will be free to members, however if you have friends with an interest in the night sky this will be a great opportunity to
introduce them to the club. The picnic will allow non-members attendance for a $5 fee - which will be applied towards membership should they
choose to sign up that night.
Rain Date
In the event of inclement weather the BBQ will be postponed till June 27. Full instructions will be posted on www.njaa.org by 12PM
the day of the BBQ should rain appear to be a real threat. Please be sure to check the web site if you have any doubt.
RSVP
We need to have a good idea of who will be present so we can prepare appropriatly. We'll be buying enough for the crowd we know about, if you surprise us you might get stuck with that over roasted hot dog that seems to always sit on the grill after everyone is full. Please RSVP via this form. We run the BBQ on a tight budget. If you would like to provide some needed picnic items. we'd appreciate it! Klattu brada nicto.
